Omnego FAQ - ( Back to Overview | Previous Article )
Why does the Omnego powered mobile wallet app require a new user to enter a mobile phone number and a password?
|
|
- The Omnego solution utilizes the mobile phone number as a unique identifier only. It is not used for any other purpose. It is the most unique identifier for a consumer, typically lasts longer than an email address and is easier to type into the registration process. This mobile phone number will never be used to call or text a consumer.
- The password is used to more securely identify a user and to ensure that a user is who they say they are in the event that mobile wallet content must be reloaded.
- The password is used to encrypt your cards, coupons and any content stored in an Omnego powered mobile wallet app or our servers in the cloud.
- Securing your credentials is a top priority. Someone would not only have to know our 256 bit encryption algorithms, but they must know your password to access your data.
